Central Excise conducts raids on BJD MP Rabindra Jena’s office

Balasore (Odisha): The Central Excise department on Monday conducted raids at the office and factory of BJD MP Rabindra Jena in Balasore.

Two teams of the department conducted simultaneous raids on the office of Jena in OT Road and at OM Pipe Manufacturing factory in the city.

Sources said some incriminating documents have been seized during the raids.

On 12 January, the CBI probing into the chit fund scam had conducted raids at 25 places in the country including the office and residence of the BJD MP. Moreover, office and houses of two businessmen perceived to be close to Jena were also searched.

It was alleged that Supratik Group headed by the Balasore MP had secured a loan of Rs. 18 crore from Seashore Group.
