Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Wednesday launched a helpline for women in distress on the occasion of International Women’s Day.
The toll-free helpline service ‘181’ will be available 24×7 in all districts of the state.
On the occasion, the Chief Minister felicitated women achievers in the field of academics and sports.
Manjulata Panda was felicitated for her remarkable achievement in academics. She is the first visually impaired woman of Odisha who has been awarded a doctorate degree from Utkal University and is presently a college teacher.
Two young women Jhilli Dalabehera and Jabamani Tudu were also honored, who have carved a niche in the national and international fields of weightlifting and football respectively.
The Odisha CM also felicitated four Anganwadi workers for their best service for ICDS program.
The awardees are Champamani Munda, Podasia AWC, Saraskana ICDS Project in Mayurbhanj district, Kanaklata Das, Eradanga-A, AWC, Raghunathpur ICDS Project, Jagatsinghpur district, Swapnarani Devi, Parisala-1 AWC, R. Udaygiri ICDS Project, Gajapati district and Mina Kumari Pradhan, Jamirposh AWC, Bonai ICDS Project in Sundargarh district.
