Narasingh Mishra shuns VVIP culture

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Leader of Opposition Narasingh Mishra has shunned the VVIP culture of using red light atop the official vehicle and police escort.

Mishra has denied using red beacon in his vehicle and taking police escort while traveling.

“I am not in favour of using red light in the vehicle of the Leader of Opposition. Therefore, I am no more using it in my vehicle. I also don’t require police escort during my tours. Neither within the district of Balangir nor outside the district. So the police escort facility provided to me may be withdrawn,” said Mishra in a letter to the chief secretary.

He has also forwarded a copy to the Principal Secretary of the State Commerce & Transport Department for necessary action.
