Bandh disrupts normal life in Khamakhyanagar

Kamakhyanagar: Normal life came to a standstill in Kamakhyanagar of Dhenkanal district following the dawn-to-dusk bandh observed by the Notified Area Council over several demands on Saturday.

The civic body has given the bandh call demanding immediate repairs of NH-53 and the construction of roadside drainage channels from Alatoma to Jiridamali.

While vehicles remained off the road in the town, vehicular traffic between Jajpur and Talcher was also affected as the agitators blocked the road by burning tyres.

Shops and other business establishments remained closed on account of the bandh.

Police forces have been deployed at different places of the town to avoid any untoward incident during the bandh.
