Bajarang Dal leader arrested in Bhadrak violence incident

Bhadrak: The police on Tuesday arrested Bajrang Dal’s Odisha Unit General Secretary Manas Mohanty for his alleged involvement in the communal violence in Bhadrak.

Earlier, BJP Yuva Morcha’s Bhadrak District Unit President Bikash Shrestha was arrested on charges of inciting communal tension in the town.

A few days ago, Ward No. 15 BJD Councillor Subhankar Mohapatra was arrested on similar charges.

Notably, communal tension had erupted in the district town following derogatory posts on social media against Hundu gods. Several shops were torched in the incident last month.
