Ministry reshuffle: Several ministers resign in Odisha


Bhubaneswar:  Putting to an end on the speculation of ministry reshuffle in Naveen Patnaik government, seven ministers have tendered their resignation here on Saturday.

Sources said that as many as 10 ministers will step down from the ministry today.

Ministers Sanjay Dasburma, Arun Sahoo, Pradeep Panigrahi, Pushpendra Singhdeo, Sudam Marndi, Pranab Prakash Das , Debi Prasad Mishra, Jogendra Behera, Pradip Amat and Lal Bihari Himirika have already resigned.

Finance minister Pradip Amat is likely to be the Speaker of the state Assembly, said sources.

Earlier, Odisha Assembly Speaker Niranjan Pujari had resigned from his post. Pujari would be a minister in Naveen Patnaik’s cabinet.

The swearing in ceremony of the newly inducted ministers would be held at Raj Bhawan on Sunday.
