Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Friday requested the Centre to provide Visa on Arrival facility at the Biju Patnaik International Airport here.
In a letter to External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj, the Chief Minister said the state government has established international connectivity recently with Air Asia starting its operations between Bhubaneswar and Kuala Lumpur.
There has been a good response to this international connectivity from the Indian citizens travelling abroad through Bhubaneswar. A sizeable number of foreign arrivals have also been noticed, he added.
“In order to facilitate the travel of arriving tourists, it is requested that Bhubaneswar be included as a Visa on Arrival Station for citizens of the eligible nations,” Patnaik said in a letter to Swaraj.
