Bhubaneswar: Over 70% of the students in the Arts and Commerce streams of the annual Plus Two examination conducted by the Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE) have cleared the exams this year.
The results of the examinations were declared on Wednesday.
The results of the Plus Two examinations for Arts, Commerce, vocational and correspondence courses were declared by School and Mass Education Minister Badri Narayan Patra at the CHSE office here.
While the pass percentage for Arts students was 70.17%, 71.43% of Commerce students cleared the examination.
Total 1,74,237 students passed the Plus II examination in Arts stream whereas 20,044 cleared the Plus II exam in Commerce stream.
In Arts stream, as many as 19,024 students secured 1st division, 29,460 second division and 1,25,562 got third division. With a 76.22% pass rate, girls surpassed boys among whom the pass percentage was 63.17%.
A total of 3,860 students got first division in Commerce, 2,923 secured second division and 13.247 third division.
In Commerce stream too, the girls with a 74.73 pass percentage outshined male students at 69.93%.
