Odisha Public Private Partnership Cell grounds 73 projects


Bhubaneswar: Odisha Public Private Partnership Cell(OPPP) has successfully grounded more than 73 projects in the state.

The OPPP Technical Society meeting was held under the chairmanship of Minister of Planning and Convergence Usha Devi in secretariat conference hall on Thursday.

Chief Secretary Aditya Prasad Padhi advised the cell to focus on mobilization of more private sector funds through PPP projects in infrastructure and service delivery fronts.

They decided, in the meeting, to bring in large investments in the sectors like multimodal transport, tourism, solid waste management, road, and health.

The cell was advised to create a shelf of the feasible projects in consultation with respective departments. They also decided to create a research unit-cum-data bank to identify innovative projects and to assist different departments in preparation of pre-feasibility reports as well as project reports.

Available data shows that so far 73 projects have been grounded in the state.  44 projects have been made operational. Whereas, 29 are in various stages of construction. Moreover, 10 new projects are in the pipeline.

Among the 73 projects, 11 are in the health sector, 14 are in the education sector, 10 are in urban development, 1 in revenue, 3 in transport, 2 in industrial, 1 in road and 2 are in the tourism sector.
