3 industrial parks to come up in Odisha with Rs 1640 cr investment


Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government on Friday approved three industrial parks with an investment of Rs 1640 crore. The projects would create employment potential of around 7,900.

A high-level meeting chaired by chief secretary Aditya Prasad Padhi approved the proposals of Gitanjali Infratech Limited, Jindal Stainless Steel Limited and Welspun Odisha Steel Pvt Ltd.

The Detailed Project Report (DPR) of Gitanjali Infratech Limited for setting up gems, jewellery, lifestyle and luxury goods park in Ramdaspur of Baranga Tahasil under Cuttack district was accorded final approval.

It has been proposed to be developed over 100 acres of land with an investment of Rs.636 crore. The project envisages to create huge employment opportunity for around 16000 persons.

The proposal of Jindal Stainless Steel Limited for setting up downstream stainless steel park in Kalinganagar of Jajpur district has been given in-principle approval in the meeting. The proposal envisages investment of Rs.704 crore with an employment potential of 4800.

The park will have round 71 small and medium units in the sectors like auto manufacturing, kitchenware and lifestyle, light engineering, white goods, precision cold rolling, pipes and tubes and service centre.

Similarly, the proposal of Welspun Odisha Steel Pvt Ltd for setting up a food processing, warehousing and electrical equipment park near Dhamara port in Bhadrak district has also been extended in-principle approval in the meeting.

The park is proposed to be developed over 175 acres of land with an investment of Rs. 300 crore.
