Naveen woos Japan to invest in Odisha


Bhubaneswar: Odisha government on Friday invited Japan to invest in the state in view of its industrial friendly climate and policies.

The government also proposed Japan to participate in the ensuing Make In Odisha conclave, 2018 as a partner country.

The Make In Odisha Conclave will be held at Bhubaneswar in November this year, where the state government would attract investment to the state in several sectors.

The states invitation to Japanese investors was given by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik when he met Japan Ambassador to India, Kenji Hiramatsu at the state secretariat here.

Patnaik also mentioned about the successful visit of an Odisha delegation to Japan last year.

Patnaik said the Japanese industries have ample opportunities to invest in Odisha in food processing, steel, petrochemicals, auto and electronic manufacturing sectors in the state.

The state government is focusing on manufacturing sector to attract investment. It is scheduled to hold several roadshows making the investors aware of the investment potentials in the state.
