5 tusk traders arrested, Rs 14 lakh seized in Mayurbhanj

Baripada: Police arrested five persons and seized Rs 15 lakh from them while conducting raids on the houses of tusk traders in Odisha’s Mayurbhanj district on Wednesday.

The tusk traders were arrested from Padmapur village under Jashipur police station.

The raids were conducted jointly by Jashipur and Jharkhand police teams. The arrested persons were involved in illegal tusk trading, said police sources.

Further investigation is on, said police.
