Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Saturday announced the formation of Capital Region Urban Transport for smart transport service across urban areas of Bhubaneswar, Cuttack and Puri-Konark.
It will augment transport infrastructure to efficiently meet growing transport needs of people in these major cities, said the Chief Minister.
The Capital Region Urban Transport (CURT) service replaced the existing Bhubaneswar-Puri Transport Service in the state.
The move will provide an improved bus service for the commuters travelling to Cuttack, Bhubaneswar, Konark and Puri -the most popular tourist destinations in the state.

It has also been recommended to form a Board of Directors for it.
An amount of Rs 1 crore has been declared as paid-up capital for this new project. The equity of the project will be shared by the Bhubaneswar Development Authority (BDA), Cuttack Development Authority (CDA) and the private party on 60:20:20 basis, said an official.
