5 fake Maoists held demanding extortion from contractor in Odisha

Bhubaneswar: The Bisra police in Rourkela on Monday arrested five persons for demanding extortion from a contractor in the name of Maoists.

According to reports, the five hooligans include two former members of a Maoist organisation. They had all torched construction equipment and a water pump set in the contractor’s camp on January 22.

The police arrested the miscreants following a complaint of the contractor. The police are now interrogating them and will forward them to court later on the day, said police.
