2 criminals injured in Aska police encounter in Odisha

Berhampur: Two hardcore criminals sustained critical injuries after being shot at by Aska police during an encounter on Tuesday.

The dreaded criminals, wanted in several crimes, have been nabbed.

Acting on a tip-off, a team of the Aska police followed the two miscreants to nab them at Karnoli Ashram. However, miscreants get the knowledge about the presence of police and fired at them, said police.

The Aska police soon retaliated by opening fire at them. The two are stated to have received bullet injuries in legs.

They have been identified as Laxmansing Rajput of Uttar Pradesh and Tuna Gouda of Kodala. They have been admitted to a hospital.

The injured have many criminal cases pending against them at different police stations in Ganjam district, said police.
