Bhubaneswar: With Bijepur by-poll getting closer, the political parties have intensified their campaign to garner votes in favour of their respective candidates.
The by-election for the Bijepur assembly constituency is scheduled to be held on February 24.
As the campaign for Bijepur by-poll has picked up momentum, Chief Minister and BJD president Naveen Patnaik will hit the campaign trail in Bijepur on Tuesday and Wednesday.
He will seek vote for party candidate Rita Sahu.
Patnaik will campaign in Barpali block on February 20 while he will campaign in Bijepur and Gaisilat blocks on February 21. He will spend the night at the Bargarh Circuit House and campaign on Thursday at Bijepur and Barpali.
On the other hand, Union Minister Smriti Irani will hit the campaign trail in Bijepur on Tuesday. She will campaign for BJP candidate Ashok Panigarhi.
Meanwhile, Union Ministers Jual Oram, Dharmendra Pradhan and Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti have already hit the campaign trail by holding road-shows, public meetings and door-to-door campaign.
