Bhubaneswar: Leading technocrat and steel industry veteran Atul Mishra has joined the Naveen Jindal-led Jindal Steel & Power Ltd (JSPL) as Executive Director in Charge and Head of Angul Unit.
He took over the Charge from DK Saraogi, who has joined JSPL’s Raigarh Unit as Executive Director in Charge.
Mishra will be leading JSPL’s mega Steel Plant of 6 MTPA Capacity at Angul, which is largest in Odisha, to ramp up and stabilize its operations to its rated capacity.
JSPL’s Chairman Naveen Jindal wished him all success for his new assignment.
A post graduate in Metallurgy Engineering from IIT Roorkee, Mishra is known as an astute leader having varied and cross-functional expertise in integrated steel Plant Operations and Project Management for more than three decades.
In his illustrious career, he has worked in India’s leading steel makers such as Jindal Steel & Power Ltd, Essar Steel, Ispat Industries, Bhushan Steel at various leadership positions.
Mishra has gone to places and visited the various countries for business and technical purpose.
JSPL has set up 6.0 MTPA Steel Making Complex at Angul. This was dedicated to the nation by Chief Minister of Odisha Naveen Patnaik in May 2017.
The Steel complex includes India’s Largest blast furnace of 4.0 MTPA Capacity, World’s largest coal gasification plant (CGP) producing syngas from domestic high ash coal, 1.8 MTPA DRI Plant, 4.0 MTPA Sinter Plant, 2.0 MTPA Coke Oven Plant, 3.0 MTPA Steel Melting Shop, 1.2 MTPA Plate Mill producing plates of 5 meters width – the widest in India, 1.4 MTPA Bar Mill and a 810 MW Captive Power Plant.
