Cuttack: The annual High School Certificate (HSC) examination-2018 will begin across Odisha on Friday.
Over 5,90,330 students will appear for the HSC exam 2018 which will continue till March 8, said Board of Secondary Education sources.
Out of 5,90,330 students, as many as 5,67,254 students have filled up forms in regular category and 19,737 students in ex-regular and 2,921 candidates have filled forms to write examination through Correspondence course (regular), sources said.
This year, with an attempt to end malpractice, students will have to appear the exam at centres in other schools instead of their own respective schools.
Meanwhile, questions papers have been dispatched to the nodal centres. A total of 302 nodal centres have been identified for the safe storage of question papers.
This year the State Open School Certificate and Sanskrit Madhyama examinations are being simultaneously held with the matriculation examinations.
The Board of Secondary Education (BSE) will be conducting the examination.
Meanwhile, Chief Secretary Aditya Prasad Padhi directed all district Collectors and SPs to ensure that the HSC exam 2018 is conducted in a peaceful atmosphere.
Tight security has been arranged for carrying out the examination smoothly.
