Notification issued for elections to 3 Rajya Sabha seats in Odisha

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Assembly Secretariat on Monday issued a notification for holding elections to three Rajya Sabha seats scheduled on March 23.

The last date of filling of nomination is on March 12.

As per the notification issued by Returning Officer Rajesh Patil, the candidates can file the nomination papers from today between 11.00 am and 3.00 pm at room number- 54 of Odisha Legislative Assembly till March 12.

Voting for three Rajya Sabha seats from Odisha on March 23.

Scrutiny of papers will be done on March 13 and candidates can withdraw their candidatures on March 15.

Voting for 58 Rajya Sabha seats from 16 States, including three from Odisha will be held on March 23.

The term of BJD MPs-AU Singhdeo, Dilip Tirkey and Independent MP AV Swami will come to an end on April 3, 2018.

Swami is an independent supported by the ruling party.

BJD is set to win all the three seats with a strength of 117 in the 147-member Assembly.
