2 hardcore criminals injured in police encounter in Odisha

Bhubaneswar: Two hardcore criminals were injured and nabbed following an encounter with police in Cuttack on Sunday.

They were identified as Mangu alias Manoj Moharana and Lipu alias Sudhakar Patra. The two were allegedly involved in the recent Pratapnagari firing case in Cuttack.

After getting a tip-off from a reliable source, a team of Commissionerate police swung into action to nab the hardcore criminals.

When the cops asked the duo to surrender, they opened fire and tried to escape. However, police retaliated firing at them, said sources.

The two received bullet injuries in their legs. They have been admitted to the SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack.

The police seized two mousers and 15 live bullets from their possession.
