Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Wednesday announced Rs 5 lakh ex-gratia to the kin of the minor girl, who was allegedly raped and murdered in Erasama area of Jagatsinghpur district.
Extending solidarity with the family members of the minor who was first raped and then brutally murdered, Patnaik announced an ex-gratia of Rs 5 lakh to the kin of the deceased.
Patnaik also directed the police administration to nab the accused involved in the Jagatsinghpur minor girl rape and murder at the earliest.
On Wednesday morning, the naked body of a 10-year-old girl was found at a cashew forest in Gadaharishpur village under Erasama block in Jagatsinghpur. She was allegedly raped and murdered.
According to reports, the deceased went missing on Tuesday and her family members were unable to trace her whereabouts despite their frantic efforts.
This morning, the body of the girl was spotted by some villagers at the forest near the village. On being informed, the family members reached the spot and identified the body. Later police rushed to the spot along with a scientific team and started an investigation.
However, no arrest has been made so far in connection with Jagatsinghpur minor girl rape and murder case.
