Fake notes of Rs 44,000 seized, youth detained in Balasore

Bhubaneswar: The Balasore district detained a youth for possessing and depositing fake notes of Rs 44000 at the Khirikana Cooperative Society in Soro on Monday evening.

The detained youth has been identified as Bishnu Nayak of Biranchipur village.

Bishnu Nayak had gone to deposit Rs 1,50,000 in the Co-operative society when the Secretary Achyut Nanda Das suspected some notes to be fake.

He informed the Simulia police in Balasore district which came and seized the notes.

“A person named Bishnu Nayak from Biranchipur village had come to deposit Rs 1.5 lakhs. Fake notes worth Rs 44,000 were detected on cash counter. We have seized the money and detained the person,” IIC Sanjay Parida said.
