4-yr-old girl raped, private parts mutilated in Odisha’s Balasore

Bhubaneswar: In a shameful incident, a four-year-old girl has allegedly been raped by a youth in Nilagiri area of Balasore district, said police on Sunday.

The girl was allegedly raped after being lured with chocolates by a youth and her private parts were mutilated.

The victim was admitted to a hospital in Nilagiri for treatment.

According to reports, the incident occurred at Hata Sahi under Nilagiri police limits on April 13.

The minor girl was allegedly raped and subjected to torture by her tormentor who was her neighbour.

The matter came to the fore after family members of the victim lodged an FIR at the Nilgiri police station this morning.

Acting on the complaint, the police have started the primary investigation.

The complaint in the FIR said that the accused Nityachandan Jena alias Jiban (24) had called the girl, the daughter of Sudarshan Jena of Hata Sahi village, to his home alluring her with chocolates while she was playing on the road in front of her house.

Jiban allegedly raped the girl in his home and mutilated her private parts. The victim told everything about the incident to her mother. After her condition deteriorated, the family rushed her to Nilagiri hospital for treatment.
