Pandemonium in Odisha Assembly on law and order situation


Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Assembly on Monday witnessed ruckus as Opposition Congress members demanded a discussion over deteriorating law and order situation in the state.

The Speaker adjourned the House first till 11.30 am and then 3 pm as pandemonium prevailed.

As the House met for the day, Congress members demanded that a motion on increasing incidents of sexual assault on minor girls be discussed by suspending Question Hour.

As Speaker didn’t listen to them, they rushed into the Well of the House and shouted slogans.

As they didn’t relent from shouting slogans despite repeated requests, the Speaker adjourned the House at 10.32 am till 11.30 am.

Pandemonium prevailed in the House even during the beginning of zero hour on the issue. The Congress demanded a ruling from the Speaker to direct the Chief Minister to give a statement on minor rape incidents in Odisha.
