Bhubaneswar/ New Delhi: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Tuesday arrived in New Delhi to attend the first meeting of the committee set up by Centre for the commemoration of 150th Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi.
He will attend the meeting at Rashtrapati Bhawan on May 2.
While the Prime Minister heads the committee, it includes, Chief Justice of India (CJI), Chief Ministers (CM) of all States, leaders across the political spectrum, Gandhians, thinkers and eminent persons from all walks of life.
The Prime Minister will be present at the Chief Ministers’ meeting which will be chaired by President Ram Nath Kovind.
The Ministry of Culture has constituted a 114-member panel to approve policies, programmes and guide the commemoration of Gandhi’s 150th birth anniversary.
The panel, in its first meeting on Wednesday, will decide on the broad dates and programme for the celebration.
