Bhubaneswar: Aluminium Association of India has planned to set up an aluminium museum in Bhubaneswar soon, said Tapan Kumar Chand on Friday.
NALCO CMD and Aluminium Association of India president Chand made the announcement while addressing the International Museum Day celebration at Odisha State Museum at Bhubaneswar.
“Odisha is being acclaimed as the aluminium capital of India, with abundant resources and production of aluminium and with the major players of aluminium of the country having operations here. On this backdrop, to spread awareness about the history and usage of the strategic metal, Aluminium Association of India has decided to set up an aluminium museum in Smart City Bhubaneswar,” said Chand.
Speaking on various aspects of museums across the globe, he wished that the State Museum of Odisha should be at par with the global standard, attracting visitors from the country and beyond.
He suggested the museum authority to adopt new technologies like audio guide and digitalization to make the museum more vibrant and attractive for the visitors.
He also stressed on the documentation of history and the collections of the Museums.
Odisha Culture and Tourism Minister Ashok Chandra Panda was the chief guest on the occasion.
