Bhubaneswar: With the completion of four years in office in the fourth consecutive term, Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Monday advised the ministers to work for the people with ‘3D’– Determination, Devotion and Dedication.
He asked the ministers to work hard every minute to honour the faith of people with dedication, determination and devotion.
“I am indebted to the four and a half crore people of Odisha who have faith in our commitment and capability for working towards an empowered Odisha. 3Ts of transparency, teamwork and technology will be our mantra to bring about this transformation,” he said after holding a meeting of the council of ministers here.
Patnaik also highlighted ten major achievements of his government during the term.
Listing out the achievements vis-a-vis the manifesto of the BJD for the 2014 elections, the Chief Minister said one of the topmost promises was housing security to convert all Kucha houses to pucca houses.
“Firstly, several historical decisions have been taken to promote Odia language in all walks of life. In housing, our target was to build 24 lakh pucca houses…17 lakhs have been completed, 7 lakh will be completed by March 5, next year,” the Chief Minister said.
“As far as rural roads are concerned, 25,500 kms have been constructed. In irrigation and agriculture, 7 lakh hectares of additional irrigation potential have been created…10 lakh hectares to be achieved by April 1, next year,” Patnaik said.
He also spoke about 117 lakh metric tonnes grain production, provision of crop loans for sharecroppers and millet mission for rainfed areas.
“In urban matters, land rights to slum dwellers is a historic decision. As far as skill development is concerned, we lead the country in skill development. 9 lakh young people have achieved skill development out of a target of 11 lakh,” he said.
He also referred to achievements of the government in sports as a result of which the state has become a hub of international sports.
