Achyuta Samanta addresses British parliamentarians in House of Lords


Bhubaneswar: Noted educationist and social worker Dr Achyuta Samanta addressed the British parliamentarians at the House of Lords on Tuesday.

Samanta was invited for a discourse attended by Members of Parliament and special invitees.

Baroness Prashar, Member, House of Lords, gave an introduction on Dr Samanta, while British parliamentarian Alam Gamen spoke on the occasion.

Samanta also addressed Parliamentarians and other dignitaries at Birmingham. On this occasion, Dinesh Patnaik, Deputy High Commissioner, and Dr Aman Puri, Consul General of India, Birmingham were also present.

The Odia Association felicitated Samanta. A ten-member committee under the chairmanship of Uttam Tripathy discussed construction of Jagannath temple with Samanta.

He assured them to patronize the temple construction. Samanta also discussed with the Odia people regarding the ‘Ama Vidyalaya’ initiative of Odisha government.

The Odia people highly appreciated the initiative of Odisha government and twenty of them agreed to develop the schools in their villages in Odisha.
