Raghunath Mohanty appointed Odisha Lift Irrigation Corporation chairman

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Thursday appointed former minister and BJD vice-president Raghunath Mohanty as chairman of Odisha Lift Irrigation Corporation.

Mohanty has been given Cabinet minister status, said a statement from Chief Minister’s Office (CMO).

Recently, BJD president Naveen Patnaik had appointed Raghunath Mohanty as vice president and party’s observer for Dhenkanal district.

The five-time MLA from Basta in Balasore district was removed from the post in March 2013 after he was arrested in a dowry torture case slapped by his daughter-in-law Barsa Swony Choudhury.
