Odisha govt to introduce robotics in schools

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government is planning to introduce robotics in the course curriculum in select schools across the state. The robotics course will be introduced in 10 model schools in different districts on a pilot basis.

According to sources, the students will also be imparted training on drone technology to inculcate scientific temper among the students.

“To increase the scientific temper of the school students, we are planning to introduce a robotics programme. A Bengaluru-based company had offered a proposal to our government after its tie-up with the Karnataka Government. They will be extending their reach in Odisha with implementing robotics training programme in Berhampur. On pilot basis this programme will start in 10 model schools in new laboratories built in those schools,” informed School and Mass Education Secretary Pradipta Mohapatra.

Mohapatra said the aim is to keep students technologically updated.

He said this will help children develop their skills in robotics and artificial intelligence from an early age.
