Man kills wife for dowry in Sundargarh

Bhubaneswar: A woman was allegedly beaten to death by her husband over dowry in Odisha’s Sundargarh district, said police on Sunday.

The incident occurred at Tulinga village under Hemagiri police limits in Sundargarh district.

The deceased woman was identified as Lija Bhoi. The husband, Sushant Bhoi, has been detained by the Hemagiri police.

The matter came to the fore after family members of Lija lodged a complaint that their daughter has been killed by son-in-law for non-payment of dowry. Police have started an investigation.
