Bhubaneswar: Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Monday laid the foundation stone for India’s first National Skill Training Institute (NSTI) at Baranga in Bhubaneswar.
It is aimed at imparting training to the trainers and create a skill-based ecosystem to meet expectations of the industry.
The institute will offer new age courses through technical training and will further support the training of trainers and assessors.
“The NSTI at Bhubaneshwar will serve the training needs of the local youths with industry-relevant skills, supplement training activities and will build on the demographic advantages of Odisha to truly fuel her growth and development,” said Pradhan.
He informed that a large volume of skilled workforce is required in new and emerging technologies to realize the true potential of growth in the country.
The state-of-the-art institute will impart training to the trainers and create a skill-based ecosystem that will meet expectations of the industry, he added.
