Bhubaneswar: Health and Family Welfare Minister Pratap Jena along with a team of five doctors will visit AIIMS, New Delhi on Friday to know about the health condition and future treatment of separated two conjoined boys-Jaga and Kalia.
The Minister and the doctors would discuss with doctors of the AIIMS regarding the health condition of Jaga and Kalia and their future healthcare.
The five-member medical expert team comprised of Dr. Sanjeeb Mishra, HOD, Neuro-Surgery, SCB, Prof. Saroj Satpathy, Superintendent, SVPPGIP, Cuttack, Dr. Rashmi Ranjan Mohanty, Associate Prof., Medicine AIIMS, Bhubaneswar, Dr. Pruthiraj Singh, Assistant Prof. Plastic Surgery, SCB, Dr. Jagmohan Mishra, Prof., Surgery, SCB.
Notably, the twin’s father Bhuyan Kanhara had on Monday told media persons in New Delhi that Jaga and Kalia would soon be discharged within four days for which the process had already begun.
He had also informed that the two would be shifted to the Odisha Bhawan in Delhi first.
It is learnt that there has been a considerable improvement in Jaga’s health condition and Kalia is slow in recovery. Kalia would take six more months for full recovery, according to doctors.
Notably, it has already been a year since the twins were admitted to the AIIMS on July 14, 2017. The brothers underwent a separation surgery on October 25 and 26 and later went through a reconstructive and plastic surgery of the skull in a phased manner.
