Journalist killed, daughter critically injured in Odisha road accident

Rourkela: In a tragic incident, a journalist died and his daughter injured when a speeding truck hit the car in which they were travelling in Sundergarh district on Sunday.

The incident occurred near Kuanrmunda on Biramitrapur-Rourkela route on Sunday morning.

The deceased was identified as Sanjay Roul, 37, a journalist of an Odia daily.

According to sources, Sanjay was travelling with his daughter in a WagonR from Biramitrapur to Rourkela when a truck collided head-on with the car.

While Sanjay died on the spot, his daughter was rushed to the Ispat General Hospital (IGH) in Rourkela as her condition is stated to be critical.

While the driver of the truck fled the spot, the police have registered a case of rash and negligent driving.
