Bhubaneswar: After New Delhi, Odisha Parba will portray the rich cultural heritage, history and legacy of the coastal state at Surat in Gujarat.
Odia Samaj will organize the two-day colourful celebration at Surat on September 1. It will be held at Surat International Exhibition and Convention Centre (SIECC), Sarsana, Surat.
Odisha Parba was being held in New Delhi for two consecutive years.
Odisha Parba will showcase a grand spectrum of the beautiful coastal state through its enchanting music and dance, traditional arts and crafts, rich history and heritage, and authentic food and cuisine, said Sidhartha Pradhan, Odia Samaj president.
A replica of the ‘Rath’ (chariot) used in the famous Puri Rath Yatra will be displayed just inside the entrance gate and intricate applique work and pattachitra designs of Odisha will add more colours to the decoration.
A multi projection film will trace Odisha’s struggle against the British will be displayed at the function.
Besides, a food court will be put up while around 15 stalls in Handlooms and Handicrafts Haat shall showcase various crafts and weaves from all corners of the state.
Odisha’s popular art and crafts including Dhokra, Appliqué, Silver filigree, Pattachitra, Paper Mache, wood craft, shell craft, jute items by award winning artisans and weavers will be displayed during Odisha Parba.
