11 districts alerted against lightning, heavy rain in Odisha

Bhubaneswar: The Indian Meteorological on Monday predicted heavy rain and lightning for at least 11 districts in Odisha.

The districts which are likely to witness heavy rains and lightning are Balasore, Badrak, Mayurbhanj, Kendrapada, Cuttack, Dhenkanal, Khurda, Puri, Ganjam, Nayagarh and Jagatsighpur.

“Latest doppler weather radar and satellite imageries indicate that thunderstorm accompanied with lightning and spells of rain likely to occur 11 districts between by 2.30 pm,” said a met bulletin.

The weather office has also warned fishermen not to venture into the sea in view of the low pressure formed in the Bay of Bengal.
