High drama at Berhampur railway station as youth climbs atop electric tower

Berhampur: High drama unfolded at the Berhampur railway station when a youth climbed on an electric tower and threatened of committing suicide on Wednesday morning.

Train services were affected as several trains were forced to halt at Berhampur railway station after the youth climbed on an electric tower.

However, the Railway authorities successfully rescued the youth after getting information from passengers.

The youth has been identified as Pallav Bardoli (24) of Navagaon, Assam.

As per sources, a few passengers first spotted the man atop the high-tension tower and alerted the railway authorities who immediately rushed to the spot and pursued him to get down.

The electric supply to the transmission wires was disconnected to ensure the man’s safety.
