Bhubaneswar: The ashes of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee reached Bhubaneswar on Wednesday.
Odisha BJP president Basant Panda brought the urn containing the ashes of Vajpayee from Delhi and arrived at Biju Patnaik International Airport here this evening.
The ashes will be immersed in the sea at Puri on Thursday. Later, the ashes will be immersed in the major rivers of Odisha including Mahanadi, Baitarani, Brahmani and Rushikulya in phases.
BJP has decided to organise an all-party meeting on August 24 in Bhubaneswar in memory of the great leader. It has invited several leaders including Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik and PCC president Niranjan Patnaik to attend the all-party meeting.
