Bhubaneswar: With the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) predicting heavy rainfall in Odisha, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Thursday ordered the closure of Anganwadi centres throughout the state on Friday.
He also announced that schools in Bhubaneswar will remain closed on Friday.
Collectors in districts will take decisions to close schools after assessing rainfall situations.
The (IMD on Thursday predicted extremely heavy rainfall over Odisha during the next 24 hours.
It said that a depression has formed over northwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining West Bengal and North Odisha coasts.
