BJD has lost all rights to rule Odisha: Shah

Puri: BJP National President Amit Shah on Monday said the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) has lost all the rights to rule in the state for its 18-years of misgovernance.

“The way the State Government has functioned during its last three terms, it has no rights to rule further,” said Shah while addressing the ‘Mahila Samawesh- Mahila Shakti Kendra Sammelan’ in Puri.

He said BJP is certain to form next government in 2019 in Odisha.

Stating that today’s meeting will be Naveen government’s death bugle in Odisha, Shah said this government has lost right to rule any further after consecutive terms of misrule.

Holding the government responsible for poverty in the state, Shah said many people of Odisha are leading poor life despite the fact that the state has abundant mines.

“With the blessings of mothers and sisters of Odisha, the BJP will form the government in the state in the 2019 elections. In order to have a Chief Minister of the state belonging to BJP, I seek the support of the people of the state,” he said.

Shah also alleged that the State Government didn’t allow implementation of the Ayushman Bharat Yojana of the Central Government in Odisha fearing that it might result in the increase of popularity of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the state.

He said Naveen Babu is only worried about his chair and not people of the state.

He also blamed the State Government for the death of 14 BJP workers in Odisha during the last 3 years and said that it will not stop the party from reaching out to people.

Shah also accused the government of trying to stop the benefits of Central Government schemes reach the people in the state.

“While Odisha is supposed to be at the top spot in the field of development, it is at rank one in terms of cases of misbehaviour towards women. The ruling BJD is no more functioning as per the ideals of late Biju Patnaik,” he said.

Shah said a BJP government in Odisha can transform the state into the number one state within five years.

Attacking the Congress and other opposition parties, including BJD, Shah said they are suffering from “Modi phobia”.
