Bhubaneswar: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested Niranjan Saxena, the executive director of Nirmal Infra Home Corporations Limited, from Madhya Pradesh for his alleged involvement in the chit fund scam in Odisha.
Saxena and his firm are accused of duping investors of Rs 433 crore alluring them of high returns.
Saksena was arrested from Bhopal in Madhya Pradesh last night while he was taken for medical examination in the Capital Hospital here on Saturday morning. Later, he was forwarded to court later in the day, said sources.
Earlier, the CBI had arrested the CMD of the Ponzi firm Ashish Chouhan and General Manager Abhisekh Chouhan on March 7 this year in Bhubaneswar.
The chit fund company Nirmal Infra allegedly duped millions of investors in Odisha and other states.
