Pay ex-gratia within 3 days to deceased families: SRC

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government on Monday directed the district collectors to enquire into all cases of alleged deaths due to disasters and ensure ex-gratia of Rs 4 lakh to the next of kin of the deceased within 3 days following the due procedure.

In a letter, Special Relief Commissioner (SRC) Bishnupada Sethi directed all collectors to sanction payment of exgratia for death due to disasters within 3 days of death.

They have been directed to inquire into all cases of alleged deaths and ensure payment of ex gratia of Rs 4lakh to the next of Kin in each case within 3days following due procedure.
