Odisha govt declares holiday for Hockey World Cup Celebrations

Bhubaneswar: In view of Odisha Men’s Hockey World Cup inaugural celebrations, the state government on Monday declared holiday for educational institutions and government officials on Tuesday.

Schools and other educational institutions in Bhubaneswar will remain completely closed on November 27 while the educational institutions in other parts of the state will remain functional till half-day (1:30 PM), said a release from Chief Minister’s Office (CMO).

Similarly, all government offices in the entire state including Bhubaneswar will remain closed after 1:30 PM on Tuesday.

Besides, educational institutions and government offices only in Cuttack will remain functional till 1.30 PM in view of the World Cup Celebrations programme at the Barabati Stadium.

Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan, actress Madhuri Dixit and music maestro A.R. Rahman will perform at the inaugural programme at Kalinga Stadium here on Tuesday.

Rahman will also perform at Barabati stadium on November 28.
