Bhubaneswar: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Odisha twice in January 2019, said a state BJP leader on Friday.
Modi is scheduled to visit Baripada in Mayurbhanj district on January 5. He will address a public meeting in Baripada, said the BJP leader.
State BJP general secretary Prithviraj Harichandan said the Prime Minister will also visit Bolangir in the western part of the state on January 16.
He is scheduled to address a rally on the day.
BJP is targeting to unseat Naveen Patnaik-led BJD government in the state, which has been in power since last 18 years. The saffron party is trying to strengthen the party’s network at grassroots level with the back to back visits of the Prime Minister ahead of the 2019 general elections.
Odisha will face both general and assembly elections in 2019.
Recently on Dec 24, Modi had visited Odisha to launch a basket of projects including a new campus of IIT Bhubaneswar.
The Prime Minister had also addressed a
public meeting at Khurda.
