CBI raids petrol pump of gangster Tito’s wife in Odisha

Kendrapara: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has conducted a raid on the petrol pump registered in the name of Benazir Bibi, wife of arrested gangster Syed Usman Ali alias Tito in Kendrapara.

The CBI broke open the sealed doors of the petrol pump and seized some documents during the raid.

The petrol pump was sealed by the Odisha Crime Branch in August last year during a probe into Tito’s alleged involvement in several crimes.

Sources said the Special Task Force (STF) officials were also present during the raids.

Earlier in July last year, Union Petroleum Ministry had sought a report from the Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL).

The Ministry asked the IOCL to seek CBI’s intervention to investigate how the relatives of Tito managed to get the licences of a retail outlet in the name of Ms Sayed Brothers Filling Station at Badahat of Kendrapara Town and an ad-hoc dealership of COCO (Company Owned Company Retail Outlet) at Paradip Port Trust in Jagatsinghpur.
