Regular flight service to resume at Jharsuguda airport from March 31


Jharsuguda: Regular flight service at the Veer Surendra Sai Airport here is likely to resume from March 31, informed airport director SK Chouhan on Saturday.

Low cost carrier SpiceJet will start flight operation at the airport on three routes- Delhi, Kolkata and Hyderabad.

A team of the SpiceJet authorities on Saturday conducted an inspection of the security and infrastructure facilities at the Jharsuguda airport.

Notably, flight operation at the Jharsuguda airport was stopped after Air Odisha airline suspended its flight services.

The flight will take off under the third phase of ‘Ude Desh ka Aam Nagrik’ (UDAN) scheme.

Earlier, Union Petroleum Minister Dharmendra Pradhan informed that the Jharsuguda airport will be connected to six cities — Kolkata, Bhubaneswar, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Delhi and Raipur.
