BJD revokes Prafulla Ghadai’s expulsion

Bhubaneswar: Ahead of the Assembly elections in Odisha, BJD president and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Monday revoked the expulsion of former finance minister Prafulla Ghadai.

Ghadai was expelled from the party in September 2014 after he questioned the leadership of Naveen Patnaik in an interview published in leading Odia daily Sambad.

Ghadai had represented the Sukinda Assembly seat for five terms since 1990. He was denied ticket in 2014 after he fell from Naveen’s grace for his alleged involvement in the failed coup attempt by Pyari Mohan Mohapatra on May 29, 2012.
