Odisha govt declares summer vacation from April 18

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government on Tuesday declared summer vacation for all schools and other educational institutions from April 18 in view of the prevailing heat wave across the state.

Special Relief Commissioner (SRC) Bishnupada Sethi said the decision for summer vacation has been taken keeping in view the heatwave conditions across Odisha.

According to sources, the state government had earlier decided to declare the summer vacation from May 1. However, it changed its decision as the maximum temperature is hovering over 40 degree Celsius in several places in the state.
