Bhubaneswar: Odisha continued to boil under the scorching sun as 14 places recorded above 40 degree Celsius on Saturday.
The western Odisha has turned into a cauldron with the rising temperature. Titlagarh town recorded the highest temperature in the state with 45 degree Celsius.
In western Odisha, while mercury soared in Bolangir to 43.5 degree Celsus, Sonepur recorded 43.2 degree. Jharsuguda boiled at 43 degree Celsius, while Sambalpur recorded 42.7 followed by Bhawanipatna (42.6), Sundargarh (42.0), Hirakud (42.0), and Phulbani (41.6).
Places in Odisha which also breached the
40 mark are Chandbali (40.7), Angul (42.7), Keonjhar (40.3), Talcher (43.3),
and Malkangiri (42.5).
