Bhubaneswar: Odisha is sending 33 per cent women MPs to the Lok Sabha this election.
Out of 21 Lok Sabha seats, seven women have been elected to the Lok Sabha.
Out of the seven women MPs, BJD has five. They are Pramila Bisoi from Aska, Chandrani Murmu from Keonjhar, Dr Rajashree Mallick from Jagatsinghpur, Sarmistha Sethy from Jajpur and Manjulata Mandal from Bhadrak.
With this, Biju Janata Dal (BJD) is sending around 42 percent women MPs to the Lok Sabha from Odisha.
BJP candidates Aparajita Sarangi from Bhubaneswar and Sangeeta Singhdeo from Bolangir Lok Sabha seats have been elected.
BJD has won 12 Lok Sabha seats while BJP got
eight and Congress managed to get one.
